What is up with New York roads?
Typically in New England, when you see a sign for an upcoming curve with the speed limit it is a more like a low end suggestion. The New York routes I was on had signs for upcoming curves, but the speed they suggested was much closer to the reality of the curve. I found in general that I could reasonably go about 5 miles over this posted speed before it started to be a little more of an aggressive turn. I am ok with this, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting...

Rhinebeck, NY for the day
Well, it has been a while since I posted anything meaningful... this mostly due to the fact that except for a few simple 1/2 day rides by myself I have only been riding to and fro work.
Well that changed today!
I rode to Westfield to meet Dan, and around 9:30am we headed out.
We took rte 20 West to rte 23 West all the way into New York and all the way to rte 9 south down to Rhinebeck for the Rhinebeck Grand National Meet at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds (www.rhinebecknationalmeet.com).
What a beautiful day and a wonderful ride. The weather was perfect.
Here are some of the sites we saw...
The return trip from Rhinebeck was rte 9 north to East on rte 199 (should have taken rte 308 to rte 199, but oh well....). Rte 199 was a twisty road that was fun to ride. We took this to rte 44 to rte 219 to rte 10/202 back to Westfield. A slightly longer but thoroughly enjoyable ride.
